Duncan Lynch
Username: wizardlizard
Gender: Male
Age: 25
Species: Human
Rank: Skaa
Location: Luthadel
Personality: If there ever was a picture included next to the term "silent giant," Duncan's photo would most likely be there. He rarely ever speaks, or even makes a noise. The only time he does is when asked a direct question that can't be answered with a simple nod or shake of the head. When he does speak, it's usually in short sentences or simple words. Because of this, most would peg him as dull or stupid. That is a big mistake. Duncan is very smart, and although he doesn't speak enough to show it through his words, it definitely shows in his work. He's excellent at what he does, and content where he is. That's why he earned his blacksmithing job, and even occasionally works as a jeweler to craft pieces for the nobles. He rarely complains about the extra work, mostly because he hardly seems to sleep. He also doesn't seem to mind the heat of the forge either. However, there is one thing that sets him off. If anyone messes around with his work space, be warned; Ducan is as strong as an ox, and as terrifying as a bear when angered. Do not mess with his things.
Appearance: Standing at around 7'4", Duncan's a giant with a muscular build to add to it. He resembles a bear in a way, with thick brown hair along his arms, chest, and legs. He has a thick beard as well, and shaggy hair. He's handsome in a rugged sense, if one was into mountain men or the burly warrior look. His eyes are what really stand out; they're a vibrant green that shines through all the soot and dirt on his face. Speaking of soot, Duncan is almost always covered in it from the long hours he puts into the forge. His hands are covered in calluses from working a hammer, and a number of burns can be found along his arms and hands. He doesn't seem to mind it though. He also doesn't smile much, but when he does, it brightens up his whole face. One could almost call it adorable. But usually, his face is set in a neutral expression.
History: Duncan is from a large family of successful miners, with seven brothers and three sisters. His family was actually encouraged to have more children due to the family's impressive strength and usefulness. So when Duncan was born as the third son, he automatically started as a miner. He quickly rose among his fellow Skaa for his brute strength and efficient nature. He never complained about the work, and genuinely seemed to enjoy himself. One day, when he was mining, a piece of important equipment snapped. The other workers in Duncan's group were panicked, but Duncan hefted the broken equipment to the nearest forge he could find and ended up repairing it himself. The work was done so well, that Duncan ended up helping in the forge more than mining. When it was obvious that Duncan had a natural talent for the skillful craft, he was made into an official blacksmith and given his own forge to work in. Duncan happily agreed, and has been working there ever since without an apprentice. It's a relatively simply life, but Duncan seems content. Many of his kin followed in his fortunate footsteps, and many of his siblings have risen to the jobs of blacksmiths or head miners.
