"You should be careful, though," the man replied. "He is an accomplished cpinshot."

Ryder snorted. "I can handle him. I've had plenty of experience with allomancers, especially noble ones. Their arrogance is probably their biggest weakness."

"Still," the man reasoned, "he did have formal training. He could be more dangerous than you think."

[Cʀʏsᴛᴀʟ]

"We'll see about that," Ryder said. Honestly, the revenge was worth the risk. He'd been at the pits for years--his life here was gone. Who cared if he died?

The man nodded, staying silent this time.

[Cʀʏsᴛᴀʟ]

"Will you come with me to case Keep Venture?" Ryder asked. "We need to move quickly, before Theon leaves the city to return to the pits."

[echolight4eva]

The man nodded, then blinked. "Theon doesn't live in Keep Venture. Since his father basically disowned him, he moved out. He lives close, though."

[Cʀʏsᴛᴀʟ]

"Good," Ryder said with a nod. "You'll have to show me where, then."

"Of course. Shall we go now? Are you rested enough?"

[Cʀʏsᴛᴀʟ]

Ryder took a moment to answer. His feet and muscles ached from the long hike from the Pits to Luthadel, and he felt sick from dehydration and hunger. "Let me get something to drink, and then we can go," he said. "Some water first... but I could sure use some wine."

"I have a little wine left. Let me get that for you. You sit here and rest." He got up and fetched a cup of water and a small, unadorned goblet of wine

Ryder leaned his head back while he waited, but he straightened up to take the wine and water. He downed the water in a few quick gulps, just to wet his aching throat, before switching to sipping his wine. "Ah, that's better," he sighed.

The man himself drank a cupful of water and then sat down to wait for Ryder.

Ryder drank his wine quickly, probably far faster than he should have. When the goblet was empty, he rose from his seat and threw the man a smile. "Shall we?"

He nodded silently and led the way out. They headed towards Keep Venture, keeping to the back streets and alleyways, and then he stopped before a corner. "His house is just ahead. It doesn't look like much."
