Her eyes re-hardened as she covered her arm again and looked at the man. "Well, here we are. Shall we go now?"

Ryder nodded and rose to his feet, somewhat of a spring in his movements. Despite that and the smile on his face, there was a hardness to his eyes. "We shall. I'm looking forward to this."

The man nodded. "You lead the way," he said to Alicia, who nodded.

Ryder followed Alicia out of the hideout. He had to assume she knew the way to Theon's house.

The man followed behind them both, and Alicia walked forward cautiously, checking for guards as they went.

Ryder moved with silence mastered from years of living on the streets as a thief. Even before he joined a crew, the young boy Ryder had been forced to make himself invisible most of the time, lest he attract the attention of an annoyed nobleman.

Alicia stopped short and held her hand up, signaling them to stop and say silent. A guard walked past and, once he was gone, they carried on until they were at Theon's home.

From in front of a building a good ten paces away, Ryder gestured toward the door. "It doesn't seem he has any guards, or even servants," he murmured. "It all seems too easy."

Alicia stopped and narrowed her eyes. "Guards inside," she signed to the man.

Ryder nodded. That made more sense. Where were they, though? There was no movement inside the windows, no evidence that a man like Ryder could find. Then again, that's why they'd brought along a Tineye.

Alcia paused another moment, using her powers. "Two just inside, three further on.." she signed, and the man relayed the message.

"Why would Theon Venture have guards?" he asked. According to the man beside him (who needs a name), the young Venture was scorned by his family. It was doubtful that they'd hire guards for him, which must mean that Theon had found his own men. Why?

"Do you think we can take him?" the man asked, whose name was unknown. Some simply called him the Shadow.

[Cʀʏsᴛᴀʟ]

Ryder snorted quietly. "The right set up and I can make those men start fighting each other," he said. "Or simply make them abandon their posts." He didn't have quite the subtle touch as some Soothers and Rioters he'd known, but he was powerful enough that he could Riot a good number of people.
