"It should be relatively simple," Ryder said. "All we have to do is make them nervous. Anxiety puts people on edge. I can riot those emotions, leading to an argument, which then will lead to a fight." He paused for a moment in thought. "Can you tell if they're just soldiers or hazekillers?" he asked Alicia. Hazekillers were specially trained to fight Allomancers, and they carried no metal on their bodies. He wasn't sure just how good her hearing was while burning tin. They might have to lure the men out to see if they wore armor.

Alicia squinted as she listened, then sighed and shook her head. "She doesn't know. She is having a hard time hearing, apparently, for whatever reason."

Ryder frowned. Now why would that be? He sighed and shook his head. "I guess we'll be going in blind, then."

(I was thinking it could have something to do with a person using a little bit of copper?)

(Well, copper hides people from others using bronze, but it doesn't actually inhibit other powers)

(Oh. Hm. Well, it could just be a mystery.)
Alicia gestured them on as soon as a guard was striding off down the street. They went around to the back of the house and the Shadow looked around. "Do you see anywhere we can infiltrate the house?"

Ryder scanned the street. In the darkness, with the mists obscuring his view, he certainly couldn't see as well as Alicia. However, he could still see the second story window ledge. He pointed silently. It wasn't terribly high; he could probably get up there without too much difficulty.

The Shadow nodded and cupped his hands together to provide a foothold for Ryder. Alicia stood scanning the area.

Ryder judged the distance to the window a second time, just for good measure, then stepped into the man's hands and launched himself up toward the ledge. His fingertips just managed to grab hold of the narrow ledge, but it was enough for him to hang on. His body might be emaciated, but working in the Pits had left him with some semblance of his former strength, and he laboriously pulled himself up and slid open the unlocked window. Foolish noble.

The Shadow helped Alicia up, who then pulled him up too. Nobody was in the room, and it was rather dusty and unkempt. Alicia crept towards the door and looked around. There were two guards pacing up and down, and a light on in the room across the hall.

Ryder pointed toward the room and mouthed, "Bedroom?" his eyebrow raised in a questioning manner. Why else would the light be on?

"Perhaps," The Shadow mouthed back. "Let's check it out."

Ryder checked the guards down the hall. Their backs were turned, but that didn't mean they wouldn't turn and spot them. They'd have to move quickly and quietly. He slipped into the hallway without a sound, practically holding his breath, and moved on swift feet toward the door.

Alicia narrowed her eyes but followed, as did the Shadow.

Ryder glanced back toward where the guards stood before leaning toward the door and pressing his ear against it. Not hearing anything, he waved at Alicia.
