She dipped her head. "Not to worry." She finished this course and her plate was taken, the next course being sat in front of them. This was a steaming piece of beef with potatoes and greens.

Once again, both Tekiel woman began to eat politely. "So, Adelaide, do you get to see your parents much now that you've married?" Leonie asked with a smile. Her grandmother chuckled.
"My own mother bothered me ceaselessly about visiting her once I had gotten married." She said, shaking her head at the memory

Adelaide gave a small shrug, eating a few bites before answering. "I don't see them as often, of course, but I visit sometimes. Nazeal usually goes with me."

Leonie smiled warmly. "That's good! I take it your parents adore him?" She guessed. Madame Raine laughed.
"I would suspect so. He's a true gentleman who cares for their daughter. What's not to love?" She joked.

"Yes, they do," she agreed, laughing.

Madame Raine's smile widened and she smirked triumphantly at Leonie. "As I suspected." Leonie only rolled her eyes, but laughed. Then she looked at Adelaide with a warm smile.
"Oh, I must admit that there is something that's been pestering me since we've arrived. I really would love to see your paintings you mentioned, if that's alright." Leonie said politely. Her grandmother blinked before clapping her hands together in realization.
"Ah yes! I remember now! Thank you for remembering it for me, Leonie." She said to the younger Tekiel. Leonie only chuckled before Madame Raine looked at Adelaide. "When you get old, you tend to forget practically everything. Honestly, I think I'll forget my own name eventually. Then I'll just think it's Nana." She joked with a wink to Leonie.

Adelaide nodded. "Okay, after dessert!" she agreed. "I'm really not very good," she warned. "I only do it for entertainment."

Leonie only raised an eyebrow at her. "Adelaide, it doesn't matter. You don't need to be a prodigy in order to paint. As long as you paint from your heart and emotions, whatever comes out is bound to reflect you." She said genuinely. Her grandmother smiled before looking at Adelaide.
"If it reflects you, I'm sure it's beautiful." She said. But then she looked at Leonie with an amused smirk. "And that was perhaps the cheesiest thing you could've said." She deadpanned. Leonie laughed heartily before shrugging and grinning toothily.
"What can I say? I can be a bit of a romantic at times." She confessed, taking another sip of her drink

Adelaide thanked them, finished her third course, and then dessert was served. It was a lovely, light sorbet with a pinch of mint on it. Adelaide ate this quickly and then wiped her mouth, waiting for her guests to finish.

They finished soon after Adelaide, and Madame Raine was practically beaming. "That was delicious!" She said. Leonie smiled at her before nodding to Adelaide.
"I agree! But my appetite is a bit ruined because I'm too excited to see your paintings." Leonie said with a chuckle

Adelaide stood and smiled. "We shall go to Nazeal's and my room- thats where I keep them." She led the way.

Leonie got up and helped her grandmother out of her chair. Then, she offered her arm once more, and Madame Raine took it. They followed closely behind, both completely at ease. "When did you start painting?" The elder Tekiel asked

"Oh, I've been painting for a few years now," she said, smiling. "Probably since I was thirteen."

"Did anyone teach you, or did you learn on your own?" Madame Raine asked. Leonie seemed content to stay silent this time, an easy smile on her face as she simply listened

"I mostly taught myself," she said as they arrived in their chambers. She led them to a closet further into the room and walked into the large room. Inside, there were beautiful paintings of people as well as plants.
