Adelaide smiled and sat in an armchair beside the older woman. "I do very much appreciate the invitation," she said. "And this is a magnificent library."

Madame Raine chuckled. "We have that one to thank for it." She said, pointing at Leonie as she sat in an opposing armchair from both of them. Leonie only chuckled as she crossed her legs and leaned back, completely relaxed and at ease.
"Guilty as charged, I'm afraid. I love to read far too much, so I suppose I gathered all of these to fuel my 'addiction' as my grandmother calls it." She joked. Her grandmother only chuckled in response.
"Oh I don't want to hear it." She said before leaning into Adelaide almost conspiratorially. "She's read practically every book in this room."

Adelaide looked around in wonderment. "I wish I could say the same thing! It might take a lifetime."

Leonie shrugged. "It does take a while, I admit. But it was worth it." She said with a smirk, looking around. Finally her gaze rested back on Adelaide, and the smirk turned into a smile once more. "So how have you been these past few day, Adelaide?" She asked simply.
"Well, I hope." He grandmother added with a chuckle

"I have been wonderful," she responded, smiling serenely. "And how have you two been since our visit?"

"Dreadfully bored." Madame Raine replied. "Little Leonie here has been busy the past few days with her work for the house and her soldiers. I finally insisted that she have a break before I went mad." Leonie laughed at that and grinned at Adelaide.
"So I figured I could invite you over not only to return the favor and see you, but also keep my Nana from going insane. Kill two birds with one stone." She said with a chuckle.

"Good!" Madame Raine said with a laugh. Leonie only shook her head before looking at Adelaide.
"I don't think I ever asked you what your favorite type of book was. You said you liked reading as well." Leonie said, looking curious

"You did. It's fantasy."

Leonie blinked as her grandmother laughed. Finally the younger Tekiel raised an eyebrow and smirked. "Are you sure we weren't separated at birth, Adelaide? The similarities between us are starting to sound like more than coincidence." She joked.
"You two are practically like sisters at this point. By The Lord Ruler." Madame Raine chuckled once she had calmed down. Leonie looked amused.
"What kind of fantasy books then?"

"Oh, well, daring sword fights, faraway lands, that sort of thing. Mostly I like to hear descriptions of what the world might have been without this accursed ash," she said with a smile.

Leonie nodded."As do I. I can only imagine it. A world of green." She said with a faintly wistful smile. Her grandmother chuckled.
"Would look much better than what we have today, that's for sure." As she spoke, servants entered carrying trays of light food and cups for tea. They set it down on the table between the trio, and each cup was filled. Leonie snapped her fingers before getting up.
"Oh! That does remind me of something. Please excuse me for a moment, I'll be right back." She said with a smile before leaving. Madame Raine chuckled as she took up her own cup and sipped from it.
"I know what she's getting. I was wondering if she had forgotten. Probably not though. Leonie hardly forgets anything."

Adelaide looked at Madame Raine with a questioning look but say quietly, sipping her tea.

After a minute or so, Leonie returned with a small box in her hand. "An associate of mine was in town. She's a miner, but also a well known stone cutter and jewelry maker. When I heard about her latest shipment of materials, I had to ask her to make something. I honestly thought she wouldn't since she's always busy, but she agreed." Leonie said as she opened the box. Within was a ring made of pure sapphire in the shape of a curling lioness. "I had to approximate the size, but I do think I got it." She added with a chuckle, extending her hand to Adelaide with the ring in her palm

Adelaide covered her mouth in shock. "Leonie!" she gasped, half scoldingly. "You absolutely shouldn't have!" She carefully took the ring and slipped it on her right hand, admiring the craftsmanship. "Oh, Leonie, it's beautiful! Thank you!"
