"Damn it, woman!" Kol roared. He shoved her away and staggered to his feet. "If you want to leave, we have to leave now."

Ava set her jaw and her eyes blazed furiously. "Don't tell me what to do!" she growled, although she grabbed her bag and started throwing in the supplies they would need. "Fine, let's go! But it will be your death!"

"Better than yours," Kol muttered under his breath. "Where's your back door? They're almost here."

"This way," she said, rushing to the back of the building. Right before they reached the back door, they heard the front door crash open. Ava gasped quietly and then opened the door, ushering the man out first since he was wounded and ill. She didn't bother closing the door behind them and she led him down a narrow alleyway.

Kol did his best to keep up, but he was definitely struggling. His vision was blurry and sometimes went back, and it didn't help that the mists were still out. He could hardly see anything. "Where... are we... going?" he panted.

"Away," she said shortly. "This alleyway lets out into the main streets- we can hide somewhere in there."

Kol grunted. "We need to get somewhere they won't look for us." He paused and glanced toward the Palace District, where all the rich noble keeps were. "I have an idea. Do you trust me?"

Ava studied him for a second, then decided it was as good a bet as any. He didn't have a reason to hurt her or anything. "Yes," she said finally. "I trust you."

"Good," Kol said. Without saying anything else, he grabbed her hand and tapped into his steel reserve. In one quick motion, he dropped a coin on the ground and pushed against it, shooting them both into the air. His aim was a little off, due to her added weight and his delirious state, but they managed to crash-land on a roof a few blocks down.

Ava didn't seem phased at all and she used her iron reserves to retrieve the coin. "Where to now?"

(Iron. Steel pushes, iron pulls Kol raised his eyebrows at her. "I don't think I've ever met a healer who was a mistborn." He'd simply assumed she was a Soother, but it seemed she had more that just that ability.

(God.... freaking..)
"Might as well know the whole truth," she said. "Let's go. We have a lead and we can't lose it."

Kol scoffed and dug out a few coins. He tossed one to her, keeping two for himself. "In that case, you can do it yourself. Follow me." He pushed off from one of the metal sources on the building, jumping into the air. He pushed and pulled on metals to direct himself, pushing on metal below him every now and then to keep himself airborne.

Ava sighed quietly and followed him, pushing and pulling on the metals to stay close to him. "Where are we going?"

"A place I know well," Kol replied vaguely. As they travelled, though, it became evident that they were headed in the direction of the noble keeps. Kol kept moving forward with confidence, never faltering.
