Adelaide smiled and followed, looking to make sure they weren't seen. Adelaide didn't know who all was here, but she hoped her parents weren't. When they reached the balcony, the woman looked over it for a few moments before sitting in a slightly dusty armchair in the corner. When she sat, a small cloud of dust went up and she sneezed.

Nazeal watched the puff of dust and covered his mouth to stifle a laugh. "Yeah. People don't spend a lot of time up here," he said. The balcony was so disused that the servants didn't bother cleaning the area.

Adelaide gave a chuckle. "I can tell. I presume it's only us who use this room?"

"I came up here alone sometimes," Nazeal said. "Just to get away. But it's seen more activity in the last few weeks than in a year before we met."

Adelaide nodded in understanding. "When I was with my parents, I would always escape to my closet. It was rather cramped, but no one ever thought to find me there."

"Now, that's not a very lady-like thing to do," Nazeal said with a teasing smile. "Disappearing into closets? Tsk, tsk. Very naughty indeed."

Adelaide chuckled, grinning at him. "I never said I was perfect- just trained to be."

"Training means little," Nazeal said dismissively. "I bet you could be perfect if you wanted to."

Adelaide watched him with a mischievous smile. "Are you always so gentlemanly, or do you save that exclusively for your wife?" she teased.

Nazeal gave her a faint grin. "Actually, my gentlemanly skills are quite lacking around you, or so my father would say. It just doesn't seem right to be the stiff, proper lord he wants me to be when I'm with my wife."

Adelaide nodded. "I understand. If you're able to be yourself with anyone, it should be your wife," she said.

"I think if I wasn't able to be myself with you, I would go crazy," Nazeal said. "I wouldn't be me anymore. Then again, my parents seem to think that stiff, proper lord is who I should be all the time."

Adelaide gave a small smile."I'm happy to be of assistance," she replied. "But... I know what it's like. With your parents wanting you to be a certain way." She paused. "They never let me be as I wanted. I wanted to ride towards the sunset and leave my home... Of course, I never could."

"Maybe now you can," Nazeal said. He paused for a few moments, and then said, "We could leave the city for a bit. A distant branch of my family lives in the Western Dominance. I could convince my father to let us visit."

She glanced at him hopefully. "Really? That would be... amazing. I've never left the Central Dominance."
