Fae heard the voices of her parents and the noble grow louder, so she stepped away from him and returned to her place near the front of the room. A few seconds later, the three entered, their conversation falling silent.

Duncan went silent as soon as he heard them, his face returning to its normal neutral look. The noble who had come to visit bowed low to Fae's parents, and then Fae herself. "It was a pleasure, Lord and Lady Elariel. And I look forward to dancing with you Lady Faeldrin." He added with a grin to her before straightening and heading out. Duncan gave them one short bow before following the noble out. He glanced at Fae only briefly as he bowed, before leaving. That noble girl sure was different. But it wasn't like he'd see her again anyways.
(Should they meet again only in the market at Duncan's forge when Fae's out shopping or something?)

(That could work... or we could do something more interesting. Like... she could get kidnapped and he somehow witnesses it and rescues her?)

Fae was on her own that day. Well, sort of on her own. As she walked down the street that contained some of the more popular clothing shops, two of her father's guards followed her. She'd had to beg to go out at all, without a 'man to escort her.' Lord Ruler, he treated her like she was completely helpless.
She glanced back at her guards as she turned a corner, but the moment they went out of sight something grabbed her. She tried to scream as she was jerked into a small alcove, but a hand clamped down over her mouth to muffle it. "Don't struggle, and this will be easier for both of us," a voice hissed.

Duncan was out of his forge for once, most because he was delivering some equipment to a store owner nearby. It was easier just to carry the equipment himself. It saved time in the case, and the man needed it immediately. So Duncan hauled it over, accepted his coin, and started back towards him forge. As he walked, he though he saw someone familiar in the distance. Oh, it was that noble girl again. And by the looks of it, without a suitor. Duncan smiled very lightly. Maybe there was a bit of hope for that one after all. But then, she disappeared from sight. Far too quickly. Frowning, Duncan started towards where he had last seen her. He didn't know what had happened, but he had a feeling something was up.

Faeldrin, never to be the good girl and quite often lacking common sense, struggled anyway. Her captor grunted as she elbowed him in the stomach, but his hold didn't lessen. She only fell still when the cold metal of a blade pressed against her throat. "Now, come with me," the voice whispered in her ear. "And don't make a sound or I'll kill you."
When Fae didn't respond, he took that as affirmation. They backed away from the main street, down an alley that led to another alley. The man kept turning into alley after alley, only crossing larger streets every now and then, and soon Fae was completely lost. She knew one thing: she'd never been in this part of the city before.

Dunca followed into the small area Fae had disappeared, only to find it empty. Now he was really worried. Someone must've taken her. Grunting, he began racing down the alleys until he reached a larger street. He questioned anyone he saw about Fae, and sometimes actually got a straight answer as he continued his chase

Eventually, the man pulled her into a building. It looked like a shop, one of those pawn shops that bought items and then sold them for an unfair amount of money. A lot of it looked like junk, but she had other things to think about right then.

Duncan kept asking around, until finally he was pointed towards a shop. It looked nothing special, just some pawn shop. However, Duncan frowned deeply and made his way inside, his large frame having to duck low to fit in the door. His eyes narrowed as he took in the store's interior. It didn't look that special. And yet here was where he was pointed. So he would look here.

Fae was gone from the main room, but a man, presumably the shop's owner, stood behind the counter. "Hey!" he said. "Can't you read? Sign said closed." From the back room, Fae heard the bell ring and someone enter, but she didn't dare make a noise.

Duncan glowered at the man, and proceeded even further into the room. He towered over the man, much like a true giant would, with fists clenched. "Where is she?" He asked bluntly, his deep baritone of a voice echoing slightly in the smallness of the shop.

The man's eyes widened and he cringed away. "I--I have no idea what you're talking about," he said in a shaking voice. "Please, don't hurt me. I'm just an honor pawnshop owner."
Duncan, Fae thought in amazement. There was no mistaking that voice. She considered a moment the possibility to crying out to him, but then her captor stuffed a gag into her mouth and threw her against the corner. "Stay there," he snapped.

Duncan's green eyes narrowed even further. It wasn't a stretch for him to reach over the counter and grab the man by the collar. It was even less effort to heft him into the air and slam him against the wall. This man reeked of lies. It didn't take a genius to see the panic in his eyes. "Where. Is. She?" He asked once more, his voice deathly calm and quiet

The man visibly swallowed. "Sir, please, I don't..."
"It's okay, Raly." The man stepped out from the back room and gave the other a small nod. "Can I help you... sir?" His eyes gave Duncan a once-over, but unlike the owner he didn't seem concerned.
