A hammer was almost always ringing in his forge, but for once it wasn't. However, this didn't mean the blacksmith had stopped working. It just meant that he had gotten a special order.
So there he sat, his enormous form hunched over a separate anvil that allowed him to place his legs down and scoot up close. Duncan Lynch. Although he was only a Skaa, his name had gained its own reputation, even among the nobles. He was regarded as a master blacksmith, and indeed he was sought after to place orders for equipment, weapons, and whatever someone fancied. While he might have been the third son in his rather large family, he was the first to make a name for himself and thus pull his family along with him. Now the Lynchs were well known for their impossible strength and effectiveness in both mining and smithing. Duncan's brothers themselves supplied him with much of his materials needed for his forge, and in return he provided them with the best equipment he could make.
There was another reason Duncan was well know. Many claimed he, along with his family, was actually part giant. Almost all of the males in his family were over seven feet, and all the females were definitely over six. He had a giant's strength and look, with how muscular and rugged he appeared. However, he seldom talked. Of course, he listened very well when given an order, but perfered not to speak unless he had to. It made working with him that much easier, but of course made him very sought after and thus busy. But then again, he never seemed to sleep either. Another bonus to seeking him out. And along with that, he was great at making jewelry too, and his pieces were well sought after by nobles.
in fact, that's what he was currently working on now. He had gotten an order from some higher noble to design a necklace for some noble girl of a different house he wanted to woo. Duncan had simply nodded and headed back inside his forge. Shutting the messanger outside without a word. Now he sat meticulously molding a golden necklace chain with a small pendant in the shape of a flower, a piece of onyx as it's center. The messenger hadn't specified what kind of necklace the noble wanted, so Duncan had decided to go for a more simplistic look. Besides, he wasn't really a fan of those elaborate necklaces. Not only did they take long, but Duncan himself found them a little ridiculous. He never complained though. It was fun to craft them, long as they took and as strange as it seemed to imagine some high born lady parading it about her neck. Nobles. Oh well. Duncan finished up with the chain finally and observed his handiwork. It seemed good enough for a noble. Satisfied, he put it aside next to the earrings he had made along with the necklace before he stood. The ceiling in his smithy had to be much larger than most others due to his tremendous height. Otherwise he'd hit his head constantly. Now then, he had to wait for that messenger to return. That was the one thing that irked him a little about this order. Apparently the noble wanted Duncan himself to present the gift. To flaunt the fact he had made it no doubt. Duncan huffed slightly and shook his head, checking on the rest of his smithy and reading some orders he had been given. Nobles and their strange politics. Couldn't they just let him be and leave him to his forge?
