Duncan looked over at the man. Where did he come from? His eyes flickered to the back room. That must've been where she went. Duncan gathered more if the man's shift in his hand, tightening the circle of fabric around the man's neck he held off the ground. It wasn't choking him. Yet. Keeping the one man suspended in the air easily, Duncan approached this new man. "A girl was seen disappearing into this shop. I'm looking for her. Mind if I search the back room?" He asked

The man crossed his arms. Around anyone else, he might have looked threatening. Standing in front of Duncan, he just looked like a dwarf. "Sorry, back room is off limits to customers. And there's no girl back there anyway."

Duncan only stared before he reached his other hand and similarly grabbed the man by the collar, hefting him into the air. "I'm afraid you'll have to make an exception." He said, walking over to the door. With one mighty kick, he literally broke the door off its hinges and onto the ground. Duncan gazed inside, looking for Fae. If she wasn't in there, he would pay for the damage

The man looked scared for the first time when Duncan lifted him off his feet. "Okay, okay! Put me down! You can have the stupid girl!"
Inside the room, Fae was curled up in the corner, her eyes a little wild. When she saw Duncan, relief flooded her gaze, despite the fact that the giant was toting a man around by his collar.

The moment Duncan saw Fae, anger crossed his normally peaceful and neutral features. With a grunt, he brought the two men's heads crashing into each other before dropping them. If they weren't dead, they definitely had concussions, and were out cold. After Duncan made sure they were out, he stepped over to Fae, and his features softened considerably.
"Milady." He acknowledged, gently helping her up. Then a faint smirk glanced his lips. "Not exactly a place for a noble." He joked before returning to the two men and slinging them over his shoulders easily. Kidnapping a noble? Yeah, Duncan was definitely taking these two to the guards. He glanced back at Fae. "Milady?" He asked, motioning to the door with his head. "Shall we?"

Faeldrin worked some moisture back into her mouth and let out a deep breath. "How did you know I was here?" she asked. She never thought she'd see him again, let alone see him come to her rescue.

Duncan blinked but answered her. "Say you across the street. Then you vanished. No one disappears that quickly except a thief. Or a victim." He said, looking at Fae. She seemed to have gotten her composure back. She really did remind Duncan of his sisters, but at the same time not at all. Weird.

Fae smoothed out her dress and then ran her fingers across her hair. There really wasn't much she could do about that, though. Her elaborately pinned up hair was a mess. Oh, well. "I'm very glad you did, and that it was you. I doubt any other skaa on that street would have any desire to follow me."

Duncan didn't argue that, because he knew it was true. He only shrugged and gave her a small smile, brightening up his face. "It was nothing." He assured her. He glanced at the entrance. "We should go. You have guards?" He asked her, raising an eyebrow. Even though they had done an awful job so far, they would probably be panicking by now. Then the whole place would be turned over looking for this girl. That would be a terrible bother

Fae groaned. "Of course. They're probably looking all over for me. Poor guys are probably worried my father will kill them if they don't find me." She took a deep breath. "Well, let's go find them." With her chin held high like a proper lady should, she strode toward the door.

Duncan chuckled deep in his chest and followed her. "You are very different for a noble. It's good." He mused as they made their way outside and Duncan led the way back since Fae hadn't known where she had been taken. They got a few glances, but not many

"I'm more different than you know," Fae murmured. "And you're probably the only living person who's even close to knowing me." She kind of just slipped it in, the living part. Subtle, but not invisible.

Duncan glanced at her, not missing the subtly hint. He didn't know what it meant, but he had an idea that someone she valued was dead. "I'm sorry." Was all he could think to say. "I'm glad I can help though." He added after a pause

"I am, too," she said. "I shudder to think what those men were planning." She shook her head. They could have wanted any number of things, but it probably involved a fair amount of money.

Duncan grunted as they finally returned to where they had been originally when Fae had been taken. As predicted, Fae's guards were swarming around the place and questioning everyone. They reminded Duncan of panicking chickens running around in a frenzy. The thought made him smirk slightly, but his smile faded back to neutral. Just then, the guards saw Fae and rushed towards her and Duncan quickly
(should Fae's parents reward him or something for saving their daughter?)
