"Thank you," she replied. "My parents taught me well." As she heard the question and comment about Leonie. "Oh, I like to read too." She paused a moment. "My hobbies include horseback riding, painting, and writing."

Leonie looked surprised while her grandmother laughed. "On dear! Seems you have much in common with my little Leonie! She loves all those things as well! Especially reading though." Leonie only chuckled and smiled warmly at Adelaide.
"Yes, we do indeed have much in common. Although, Nana is right. I love reading." She admitted. "Especially reading some of the stories some of the more common people make. Now those are interesting, if a bit underwritten." She said with a twinkle in her eye. "It gives a curious insight into what the people think of the nobility. Some are actually quite interesting in how they think we live our lives. There were actually a few about your husband and his brother that were very well written." She said. "But to be honest, I have no favorite kind of story. I just love reading." Her grandmother smacked her on the arm.
"Oh nonsense, Leonie! You love reading your fiction." She scolded. Leonie chuckled.
"Alright, that is true I admit."

(Crap, sorry. I didn't see this!)
Adelaide smiled at her, wondering what books those were. She hadn't read them. She smoothed her dress and clasped her hands. "Fiction is my favorite. I would love to invite you to come and see some of my paintings some day," Adelaide stated. She was actually very decently talented, painting portraits and scenes of the plants she would find in her parents' greenhouse.

Leonie's smile widened. "I would be honored to see them! I have a feeling you are a wonderful painter." She said. The elder Tekiel chuckled.
"And perhaps you could finally have a riding companion for when you go out on your little adventures." Leonie laughed and only shrugged.
"I believe that depends entirely on Adelaide's decision, Nana." She returned. Madame Raine chuckled before looking at Adelaide again.
"You should come over for tea one day, dear! I quite enjoy your company." Leonie raised an eyebrow at the older woman and smirked slightly.
"Does that mean you tire of my company, Nana?" She teased. The older woman lightly smacked Leonie on the arm, all playful annoyance.
"Oh, you know what I mean! It would be nice to have another perspective in our conversations. We already agree on everything, little Leonie." She returned. Leonie chuckled.
"Very true."

Adelaide smiled brightly at their invitation. "I would very much enjoy that. Thank you!" she replied, looking first at Leonie and then at Madame Raine. "Do you have your own horse, Lady Leonie?"

Leonie smiled at Adelaide and nodded. "Yes! She is a fine brown mare named Lizette. I've had her for a while now. She was actually a gift from my grandmother." Leonie added, glanced at the woman beside her. The elder Tekiel only waved her hand dismissively.
"I knew you loved horses, so naturally it would be the perfect gift for you. Besides, I knew you needed a new one since your old one had passed away." Leonie still chuckled and gave the older woman a small kiss in the top of her head, which was fairly easy considering her height in comparison to Madame Raine.
"I know, but I'm still thankful, Nana." She said genuinely before looking at Adelaide. "Do you have your own horse as well?"

Adelaide watched the exchange in contentment, nodding at Leonie when she was asked the question. "Yes, I do. He is a tall black stallion with feathery hair around his hooves. His name is Onyx," she replied. "He is my baby."

Leonie nodded. "He sounds like a fine horse by your description. I would love him to meet Lizette." Madame Raine laughed.
"You would love to see them race is more like it! I know you, little Leonie!" She said. Leonie looked at her with mock hurt.
"Nana!" She protested, but did not deny it. Chuckling, she looked at Adelaide and shrugged. "I would like to see how fast you can ride, I admit." She confessed with a smile. "But not just for that, I promise."

Adelaide chuckled at her. "A friendly race, then? Very well. But I warn you, Onyx is a powerful horse and very fast."

Leonie raised an eyebrow and smirked back. "Then he should be a good challenge for Lizette." The elder Tekiel laughed and shook her head.
"Just look at you two! Peas in a pod, aren't you?" She teased. Before Leonie could protest, she waved her hand. "Ah, but these old bones are growing tired.. I think I'm just about ready to head back home. And just about ready to eat too!" She added with a chuckle. Leonie smiled and her.
"As you wish, Nana." Madame Raine looked at Adelaide.
"Would you like to join us, dear? We'd love to have you!" She said with a warm smile. Leonie looked over at Adelaide under smiled as well.
"We certainly would. But if you are too busy or believe you should head to your home, I understand."

Adelaide tilted her head. "Oh, I apologize. I must be getting home now. But thank you for your invitation. Let us stay in touch about our race?"

Leonie smiled and nodded. "Of course! I look forward to it." She said with a chuckle. Madame Raine nodded as well, smiling.
"It was lovely meeting you dear. I do hope we'll meet again." She said. Leonie gave a short bow to Adelaide before the Elderly Tekiel pulled Leonie along.
"Come along now, my little Leonie!" She said. Leonie only laughed and let herself be pulled along.
"Nana! Have patience!" She scolded playfully as they moved along.
(Want to skip along to when they meet up again and race/have tea?)

Ok!))
"So this is the Venture household!" Madame Raine said once they were escorted inside. "It's big, that's for sure. Although sometimes I question why they're made so big. The ones living in the place hardly manage to use all the space." She mused. Leonie laughed.
"Nana! I'm sure the Ventures make use of every space within their home." Leonie assured her. The younger Tekiel was wearing simple clothes for riding, yet still looked crisp and sharp. The older Tekiel was wearing a dark blue dress, and was looking over everything with a scrutinizing gaze.
"It certainly is lovely, that's for sure. Very well taken care of." She said with a smile. Leonie only chuckled at her grandmother's antics

Adelaide was upstairs getting ready, while a servant ushered the pair inside. "Right this way," the skaa servant said quietly, leading them to a small tearoom further into the house. A few minutes later, Adelaide appeared, wearing a simple but elegant blue dress, her purple eyes genuinely at ease within the walls of the keep. "Welcome to our home," she said graciously. "Shall we have tea before we race?" Adelaide sat in a high-backed, stiff armchair. A servant poured her tea and Adelaide picked up the cup and saucer, taking a ladylike sip. There were dainty pastries in front of them and Adelaide gestured to them. "Please, help yourselves. There is plenty for everyone."
