Nikolai looked over them all, and then back to Nathan. He clasped his hands together. "So! Shall I make the change of clothes for these two then?" He asked, pointing to Noah and Alicia with separate hands.

Nathan nodded. "Please do," he said. "Now, here's how this is going to happen." He nodded at Nikolai. "Noah and Alicia will need to pose as lesser nobles. We're crashing the party my relatives are planning in two weeks. I'll show up with my lovely date," he paused and nodded toward Alicia, "and her brother. No one will question my choice. Our job will be to find out where the 'gift' is being stored and why Lady Venture gave it to the Elariels in the first place."

"And me?" Zoe asked irritably. "Why do everyone else get a job? Am I just supposed to hang out and watch these two play nobles?" She snorted and pulled out one of her knives, flipping it through her fingers with a scowl.

Nathan eyed the knife. "Your part will come," he said. "For now, I want you to case the outside of the keep. We need to find a way in, and/or an escape route."

Alicia gave a grin when he mentioned dressing as nobles. She had never played dressup before, and now was a strange time to start.
Noah nodded. "It'll be in a safe somewhere, no doubt."

Nikolai watched them chat back and forth for a bit. He noticed the grin on Alicia's face at the mention of dressing up, and smirked subtly before looking at Nathan. "So what's my job hen other than making the outfits? Or is that all?" He questioned, his face neutral once more.

"You have high standing among the nobles," Nathan told Nikolai. "You can help by being yourself. We need metal, too, if you can get your hands on some." He gestured to Alicia. "We'll need lots of tin, and copper for you. Since most of us will be separated most of the night, we need a way to communicate. The best we can do as of now is for you three to relay information through Alicia. We'll have her burn tin throughout the night, hopefully not long enough to have any ill effects. We'll also test her hearing range before hand. Other than that, we'll have to use signals to communicate."

Alicia listened to this, then flashed a series of signals with her hands- she was a novice at sign language. Noah looked at her, frowning. "Does anybody else speak sign language?"

"I do, actually." Nikolai confessed. "My mother can't speak any more. It's how we talk." He glanced over at Alicia. "Could you do that again?" He asked

Alicia looked surprised. She nodded and signed a little slower. It meant, "I speak sign language so I don't have to speak verbally."

Nikolai nodded, and signed back. He was much better, considering his mother, but he went slow for Alicia to see. 'Understood. If anything happens at the ball, sign to me.' He said. Out loud to the others, he said "I can communicate with Alicia and relay the info to you, Nathan." He said, glancing at the man

"It would probably be the other way around," Nathan said, "since Alicia would be with me most of the night. Now, we need to have an abort signal if anything goes wrong. Something big all of us will notice."

"We could set the house on fire," Zoe said almost gleefully. She really wanted to see that keep burn.

Alicia blinked at Zoe, concerned for her pyromania.

Nikolai blinked at Nathan and then nodded. "Ah, right." He mused. When Zoe spoke, Nikolai buried his face in his hands. "Although I personally would find that hilarious," he admitted as he looked up again, "I hardly think that burning the keep down will be a good signal. We'll be in the building, remember?"
