Adelaide gazed at the beautiful cloth, touching it with a few fingers. "Mr. Volkov! It's a beautiful color! Now, what ideas have you for the dress itself?"
(There should be a ball in this thread or something to show off the dress xD)

Nikolai stepped back from Adelaide, looking her over before looking at the cloth again. "Hmmm... For you... I think I would go simpler. Nothing too puffed out like some of those other ladies' dresses. It won't be plain, definitely not, but nothing as terribly complex as some of the others. You do not require a dress to augment your own beauty. The dress should just be there to draw attention to you!" He stated with a smirk. "You have a lovely form as well, so the dress shouldn't take too much away from you. It shall be like a veil of stars, to draw attention to the moon!" He announced. "And that moon shall be you, Lady Adelaide!" He added, pointing at her with a triumphant smirk

Adelaide listened to his words again, a faint smile on her lips. "Such eloquent words, Mr. Volkov. I thank you for your kindness. I do have one suggestion- the sleeves. I like to have long sleeves, not so long so as to touch the ground, but long enough."

Nikolai smiled at her compliment. As she named her request, he gave her a nod. "Of course Lady Adelaide! Besides, I never much liked the ridiculously long sleeves. Because that's precisely what they are. Ridiculous." He said with a shrug and a chuckle. "Now then. Would you rather have them loose or tight to fit your arms? I can easily measure them now if you so wish." He said.

"Huh! A very reasonable length, Lady Adelaide. Perhaps you could make for a tailor as well." He teased lightly with a smile as he leaned down and grabbed the measuring tape. With a light touch, he wrapped it around both of her arms, jotting down the numbers each time. "I do expect you shall be the 'belle of the ball,' Lady Adelaide. I will set to work on this immediately!" He assured her, checking over the numbers.
"I'm sure your husband will also be pleased with the dress as well! Congrats on that by the way," he added with a smile. "Soon enough, he'll have the goddess of the night sky herself at his arm! Imagine the envy you'll cause!" He said with a chuckle

Adelaide laughed. "Well, I don't know about being a tailor, but I do embroider to pass the time," she replied with a smile. When he said the part about the goddess of the night, she blushed modestly. "Oh, I don't know about all that... but thank you," she said shyly. "Thank you for your help. I will come back- will you send word when it is done?"

Nikolai laughed and nodded. "Of course Lady Adelaide! Besides, I'm dying to see how you'll look in my newest creation! You are now my test subject!" He said with fake evil laughter, before it faded into a true chuckle. "Ah. Sorry. I have a tendency for the dramatic." He joked. "In any case, you can get dressed now. I'm sure you've been itching to get covered up again. I shall leave you to it." He said, exiting through the fabric door once more.
This is just a minor suggestion, and you don't have to listen to it, but would it be interesting to have a sort of love triangle to on between Nazeal, Adelaide, and Nikolai? You don't have to agree to it. Love triangles can be a bit... Eh, at times XD))

XD It's up to you really. Nikolai would take a long time to like Adelaide, mostly because he has a natural hatred for nobles [his history]))
Eventually he knocked and came in when she said she was really. He gave her a smile. "Well! I believe we are done here then, Lady Adelaide! I'll be sure to send for you once it's done, so you could try it on. Thank you for modeling for me today. It was truly a pleasure." He said with a polite bow and a smile.

Oh! Well then never mind XD I don't want to make things too complicated then XD))
-(time skip)-
It was only a week or two later that the dress was done. Even with his other requests, he had managed to put together the dress. Nikolai had to admit he was pleased with himself at how it had turned out. So he had sent out a message to Adelaide at once to let her know. Meanwhile, he was preparing in his shop yet agin. Thankfully he was more organized this time, getting his things done before he fell asleep. That always helped.

Nikolai had went to the entrance when he heard the bell. He smiled in amusement at the excitement on her face. "I'm good! I wouldn't dare say I'm as excited as you are, but I might be close." He said with a chuckle, heading toward the dressing room. "Come come! I want you to try it on as well! Disrobe while I get your dress!" He said, heading toward the fabric room after he shut he first door behind them

(No, no! Conflict is good  But it would be somewhat easier if he fell in love with her  ) Adelaide clapped happily and disrobed in the same room as before while she waited, her eyes glittering in excitement. "Oh, I just know you did a wonderful job, Mr. Volkov! I can't wait to see it!" |
