Adelaide smiled as he kissed her, nodding at him. "Yes, I can. Promise to come back?"

Nazeal winked at her as he stepped back. "Promise," he said. Then he disappeared down the staircase and appeared a minute later in the ballroom below. He walked to the raised platform where his family sat and took his place beside his father. The man seemed a bit surprise, as did his mother, but they welcomed him with fake smiles and quiet words.

Adelaide watched him go. Although she wasn't in love with him, she had become quite fond of him. The marriage was as good as she could have hoped. She leaned against the railing of the balcony and gazed at the whirling dresses below.

(Yeah)
Adelaide was very excited. She was packed with all she would need for their trip, and was dressed in a sensible black dress for traveling. She walked out of their room with a male servant carrying her luggage and waited for Nazeal to say he was ready.

Convincing his father to let them go had been surprisingly easy. He got a strange feeling that the man was simply happy to be rid of his son for a few weeks. Nazeal followed Adelaide out of the room with a second servant behind him with his luggage. He gave her a broad smile as he stepped up beside her. "Shall we?" he said.

"Do let's," she agreed, giving him an equally bright smile. She was very excited for this trip- she had always wanted to leave the central dominance, at least for a little while. And she was surprised that his father let them go.

Their luggage was loaded into a carriage by the servants, and then that carriage took them to the edge of the city where they boarded a canal boat that would carry them to the Western Dominance. It would be a long journey, but after being on board for only a few minutes, Nazeal knew the crew would do anything to keep the two nobles happy.

Adelaide stood on the deck after they had shoved off, a little ways off from the others. A light breeze made her dress swirl around her ankles as she leaned on the railing, looking over the water. Of course the water was brown and sluggish, but she did like the feeling of being on the boat.

Nazeal joined her at the railing after having a quick word with the captain. "Are you ready for this?" he asked, a slight twinkle in his eye. It was clear he was excited, though he was trying to keep a calm exterior.

Adelaide let a faint smile out when she looked at him. "I was born ready," she replied quietly.

Nazeal gave a quiet laugh and slid closer to her. He put an arm around her, his hand resting on her hip. At one point it might have felt awkward, but it seemed more natural to touch her now, if not completely. "I'm glad," he said.

Adelaide hesitated for a moment, then rested her head on his shoulder. She closed her eyes for a second before reopening them and looking out over the water. It felt more natural to her, too.

"We should go check out our cabin," Nazeal said. They had, of course, been given the nicest quarters on the barge, which didn't really mean much. These ships weren't made for carrying passengers, but rather goods.

She pulled away from him and nodded. "Good idea." She led the way towards their cabin and looked inside. It wasn't the best she had ever slept in, to say the least. There was very little room due to the size of the bed, which was decent for a ship of this caliber. But there was a small, beat-up looking table and chair as well as a scratched and stained bureau for the clothes of anyone staying on the ship for an extended period of time.
