(I'm really horrible at this allomancer stuff xD) Kai watched carefully and looked around for something he could use, too. But he couldn't find anything helpful, so he drew his own glass dagger and prepared do defend himself. Kol narrowed his eyes and then darted forward, swinging his rusty pipe. It might not be as sharp as a dagger, and nowhere near as elegant to fight with, but in a way it was better. Longer, so he could attack from a greater distance. He flared his pewter as he approached Kai, giving himself an extra burst of speed and strength, then rammed one of the sharp ends of the pipe toward Kai's heart.

Kai, too, burned some pewter as soon as he saw the path of the pipe. With his increased speed, the pipe narrowly missed him and he Pushed against it for extra measure.

As soon as Kol felt the tug of Allomancy against the pipe, he released it, letting it fly off into the mists. Even as he let go, he ducked low and threw himself against Kai, his arms wrapping around the other man's waist. His momentum sent them both hurtling over the edge of the building.

Kai felt the rush of air leave his lungs as they fell off of the building. He quickly fought to get his bearings and, just before he hit, he burned pewter to ensure the fall wouldn't kill him.

About halfway to the ground, Kol slipped two coins between them and used them to push away from Kai... which ended up making the other man's fall that much faster. He guided himself with metals around him and landed, if not lightly, gracefully on his feet a few yards away from where Kai hit.

Even while burning pewter, his breath was knocked out of him, and a bone in his leg cracked. He gasped but struggled to regain his breath.

Kol looked anxiously around for Ava. The first thing he saw was Artis on the pavement. With tin, he could see the shallow rise and fall of his chest. He was breathing. He didn't see Ava, though. Where had she gone?

Ava peeked out from around a corner and saw Kol, to her relief. "Kol," she said. "Let's go!"

Kol glanced back at the injured Kai before running to Ava. "Well, that was unexpected," he said lightly, but there was a tightness to his lips.

Ava nodded. "Let's get out of here."

Kol led her around a street corner, away from the beaten men in the street. Somehow, Kol knew they hadn't seen the last of them. They didn't seem the type to let such a defeat slide. They would find them again, and they would come more prepared.

After they were well away, Ava inhaled, still in shock. "What was that about, I wonder?"

Kol shook his head. "It was strange. They're not the only thieves who will attack noblemen in the night, but that one was Mistborn. No normal thief. Something else was going on, something less simple..." He trailed off, his furrowed brow just visible in the pale moonlight. "I don't know."

"Mine was mistborn, too," the girl replied. "They were obviously working together, and they didn't seem to want anything but to see us dead."
