Kol burned steel and thrust himself upward by Pushing on two door hinges at the same time. He shot almost straight into the air, then Pushed on another metal source behind him to shove himself forward.

She followed behind him, using the same technique. She wasn't as fast, but she managed to keep up. At least they were both faster than the man. "Who is that?"

Kol landed on a rooftop and glanced back in the direction they'd come. "I don't know," he said darkly. "But he seemed to be after me."

Ava grit her teeth. "Is it about this, maybe?" She asked, pointing to the item they'd just picked up.

Kol looked at the object, his face hard. He stared for a few seconds, lost in thought, then shook his head. "I don't know. No one is supposed to know about it, but... who knows?"

She stared at it too, but then she blinked. "But we still need to get away from this jerk."

Kol nodded. "We'll split up. Can you find your way back to the hideout?"

Ava nodded confidently and headed off another way, perhaps a longer way, but there it was. The man decided to follow Kol instead and ran as quickly as his legs could take him

Kol made another small Steel jump to the next building and glanced down at the man in the street. What on earth made this man think he could keep up with a Mistborn? If Kol wanted, he could be halfway across the city by the time the man took twenty steps.

Finally te man stopped following, but just stood there watching the other man as he got away.

Once Kol was sure he'd lost his pursuer, he Pushed off a chimney and started along the path toward the crew's hideout. He had some questions he'd like to ask his old friend, the foremost being what the hell was in the bloody box that had a man coming after them. He didn't really consider the possibility the man had been after him. It just seemed to absurd to him, despite his *ahem* less-than-humble personality.

Ava arrived first and waited outside, not at all willing to enter the seedy bar by herself. Instead, she waited for Kol, shifting listlessly.
